Mario Kart Tour will arrive on September 25 to iOS and Android

After overcoming some delay, Nintendo has announced that Mario Kart Tour, the first Mario Kart game for smart phones, will land on September 25, 2019 on iOS and Android systems. Fans can now pre-order in the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android).

Mario Kart Tour will embrace the free-to-play model and will include integrated purchases within the application. The title will include circuits inspired by different real-world cities such as Paris and Tokyo that will change every two weeks, as well as classic tracks of the franchise including the Rainbow path. The characters available will be the usual ones (Mario, Luigi, Toad, Bowser, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, Donkey Kong...), although in Mario Kart Tour thematic pilots will be joined that will be related to the cities of each season.

To play Mario Kart Tour you only need one finger of one hand. With the thumb you can drive, skid and throw objects. In the trailer shown by Nintendo, the only time the other hand is needed is when the player is hit by the black ink of a Blooper, which can be removed from the screen by rubbing. The ink will only be one of the objects available in Mario Kart Tour, where we will also find the different shells whose color marks their effect, bombs, invincibility stars or the classic banana.

In addition to being able to play single mode, Mario Kart Tour players can compete against friends and players from around the world. A world leader-board will list players based on their highest score obtained in each race. In addition to the cups, it will be possible to play the extra rounds, some new circuits with challenges where you have to do something more than stay first. Nintendo has not detailed how it intends to monetize Mario Kart Tour, but everything seems to indicate that pilots, outfits, wings, vehicles and personalization will play a fundamental role. To play Mario Kart Tour it will be necessary to create or link a Nintendo account.
